Keene Studio is a boutique photography and design studio established by the Keene family in 1967. Over fifty years of continuous operation gives us unparalleled experience in Portland.
Ed Keene Jr. spent the first twenty-three years of his life in front of the camera, patiently serving as a test subject for new lighting designs, backgrounds, lenses and cameras. In all of those years he learned that the craft takes patience and discipline to master. After graduating from the University of Redlands, with a Bachelor’s degree in Music composition, he decided to try stepping behind the camera. It was here that he synthesized the craft he had learned from Ed Sr. with the appreciation of aesthetics he learned studying music.
This combination of appreciation for the craft and the excitement of creating something new is at the heart of all we do at Keene Studio. Our staff has a deep understanding of both craft and aesthetics. But a family can’t be in business in a town the size of Portland for almost fifty years without understanding customer service. The better we know our clients the better we can provide the help they really need. Our clients get the benefit of having certified photo and design geeks in their corners.
